Stop Waiting for Someday

The perfect time to start is now.

I feel like a lot of us put off big goals and things we want to do most of the time. We tell ourselves we’ll get it done “someday”. However, the real truth is that we’ve been putting it off for what, 3 months, 6 months, maybe even a year.

My Experience with “Someday” Thinking

A couple years ago, after learning more about this making money “online” I really wanted to become a content creator. I told myself I would make x amount of videos tomorrow and post them this week. However, when that time came I never really did anything. I always gave myself an excuse that I had other things to do and I never really did the things I told myself I would.

From that point of developing the dream of becoming a “content creator” it wasn’t until about a year and a half later that I actually started posting on social media. The point being is that I had that “someday” thinking, in which I told myself I’d create the content “someday” when in reality I was just delaying it every single day.

How you can start “now”

I think the biggest way you can make that shift in your life is to first start off in the mind. You must change your mindset in order to truly change your life. Any limiting beliefs, any fears, all of it must go. The harsh reality is, we all have that one thing or person that holds us back from truly doing what we want to do. It may be your friends, your parents, or some random person you know, but you can’t let one single person affect your life completely.

In my experience I was afraid of what my friends would think of me. I figured they would judge the things I post and might not want to be friends with me. However, what I quickly realized is that people aren’t even thinking about you. Most people are too caught up in their own lives that they have little to no time to think about you. So just start now!

Another thing that helped me to continue going along the path of “starting” was celebrating the small wins. With big goals in mind it can get discouraging when something doesn’t go as planned. It may even cause you to give up the entire thing completely. However, if you are able to learn to appreciate the small wins it gives you a sense of completion and can even be a driving force to motivate you to keep going.

What do i mean by celebrating the small wins you might say? Well, in relation to content creation, I used to get super discouraged at the start when my videos would only get 200 views. There were days when I even stopped making content because I got so discouraged. However, after a change in mindset, I began to celebrate even the smallest wins. If a video were to get 300 views, I’d celebrate. If one got to 1,000 I’d go crazy! This mindset was the one thing that kept me motivated to keep making videos despite the crazy numbers. So whatever it is for you, celebrate it, as even the smallest of things can be celebrated as a win.

As always, I’m wishing you nothing but the best
