Promise Yourself You'll Try Again

You didn't come this far to quit now

Have you ever felt stuck, lost, or overwhelmed in the face of setbacks? When things don’t go as planned, it’s common to feel like giving up is the only option. But the truth is, failure doesn’t mean the end-it’s part of the journey. Each failure should be seen as a lesson that propels you forward towards your end goal. It may not seem obvious right away, but failure is a clear indication that you are making progress.

Message of the Day:

1. The Fear of Starting Over

For Years, I struggled with the idea of failure. In anything new I tried, every time I faced a setback I felt like I wasn’t “good enough” to make it. I’d convince myself I should just give up and settle for the easier path. The fear of starting over- of putting in all my effort just to fail again-was holding me back more than I knew. I constantly had negative beliefs saying things like:

  • “What if I fail again?”

  • “Maybe this just isn’t for me.”

  • “I’m tired of trying.”

If this sounds familiar, know that you’re not alone. I’ve been there and struggled for years. Before committing to becoming a content creator I tried a ton of other businesses and never really made it anywhere. I constantly started something new, faced a challenge, and gave up on it over and over again. But when it came to content creation something changed. Something deep down in me knew I could make it. I’m not sure where this self belief came from, but it turned out to be the one driving force that pushed me to where I am today. Despite not seeing the results I wanted to right away, and constantly facing failure after failure, I promised myself to keep trying every single day.

2. Why You Can’t Let Failure Define You

The truth is: failure is not the end, it’s part of the journey. Every time you fail, a new lesson comes with it. Through failure you also grow both stronger and wiser. Along with that, you have to understand that failure doesn’t define you, it rather refines you into being one step closer to your goals.

In my experience, I always let failure define who I was as a person. And as a result I never continued in anything I failed at. Anything new I tried, I ended up giving up because I faced failure after failure. What I realized though, is that failure isn’t what defines who you are, but rather is the stepping stone for you along your journey.

The most important mindset shift I had when confronting failure was that failure is necessary when achieving success. There’s a quote that says “You learn more from failures than you ever did from success". Take this quote to heart, and realize that all the failures you encounter are indicators that you’re developing as a person.

3. Growth Takes Time

Achieving success isn’t about getting it on the first try, but more so about the consistency of work. The late night work sessions, the 12 hour work days, and the grind stage in general is what success is really about. Showing up for yourself everyday also develops self belief. It’s the small wins and the fact that you were able to show up every single day that truly help you grow over time.

An example I like, is learning to drive a car. You weren’t a master race car driver after your first attempt, but over time you learned and got better. Despite all the bad parking jobs, the awkward turns, and all the other small mistakes, you still pushed through and became a better driver. And the same goes for life in general, whether it be figuring out your career, building friendships, or improving yourself it takes time and going through mistakes that’ll make you better.

Relating to what was previously said, understand that growth happens through time and effort. All the failures and all the setbacks catapult you towards success. And, the lessons you learn from failing are the exact lessons you need in order to grow and improve. Each time you push forward through your adversities, you inch closer and closer to your goals.

4. How to Start Again and Again (Practical Steps)

Here are some practical steps you can take in order to get in that mindset of trying again and again:

  • Reflect on what went wrong. Ask yourself: “What can I take away from this?” As every mistake has a lesson hidden in it.

  • Start small. Don’t feel like you have to achieve the biggest goal right away. Simply take one small step in the right direction today.

  • Try a different approach. Trying again and again doesn’t mean you should be doing the same thing over and over, that’s considered insanity. Think about your mistakes from the last experience and change your approach.

  • Remind yourself that setbacks don’t define you. Each time you try again, you’re proving to yourself that you’re stronger than you self-doubts.

Main Takeaways

Progress > Perfection. Understand that no matter the setback you have to promise yourself to try again. No matter how stuck or lost you feel, just stay the course as you never know what’s on the other side. You’re dreams might just be one more try away from becoming your reality.

And remember, you’ve already made it this far.

You owe it to yourself to see what’s possible

As always I’m wishing you nothing but the best.

Sincerely,
