Get off your phone
Why I try and limit my screen time.
Take a second and check your screen time.
No, seriously. This is your reality check.
There are 168 hours in a week.
If you spend just 4 hours a day on your phone, that’s 28 hours a week. That’s more than an entire day—gone. A whole day was spent staring at a six-inch screen.
Now think about this: those 28 hours? You’re never getting them back. Imagine if you took even half of that time and focused it on something meaningful—spending time with family, working on your goals, or just being present. How would that feel by the end of the week?
The average person spends around 6 hours a day on their phone. That’s nearly two full days every week lost to a screen.
Wouldn’t you rather use that time creating memories, being outside, laughing with friends, or just living?
I’m sharing this because a few months ago, I lost a friend to a motorcycle accident. It made me realize how much of life we take for granted. We never know when our last hour will be.
His funeral was not what I expected. I had not attended a funeral in a minute and I guess I pictured a movie-like funeral. I was debating on going, but I pushed myself through and I did during his funeral. People were sharing all sorts of memories and stories about how they met him and highlights with him and it made me realize how precious we are to people around us and the impacts we have made in their lives that we may not know of ourselves.
So, let’s make every hour count.
Put down your phone. go make memories.
